how do i know if my distributor is set right?

if it acts like it is hard to start,is to high,turn counterclock wise,if it seames not to have the power it should turn other way,best thing to do is take it to a shop have them set the timeing,if you haveing problems it could need a new timeing set.

pull your #1 spark plug out and get your #1 piston all the way up and then pull your dist cap off but before u pull it mark on te distributer itself where the #1 plug wire goes go ahead and pull cap off where ever your roter button is pointing is where your #1 plug wire should be when u put your cap back on.
