Try a K&N filter. I suppose you could install a snorkel to pick up cleaner air.

Thank you for your response the snorkel would have to be like 6 feet above the top of my Jeep to get any cleaner. I don't know anything personally about KN filters but I've been told they're only good for air flow not filtration

You can also install a prefilter like they use on heavy duty earth moving equipment on top of the snorkel. A combination of snorkel, prefilter and a K&N is probably the best you can do. How is dust getting past your stock air filter?

I live on a dirt road and I like my K&N. It seems to keep dirt out but you do have to oil them correctly. I have 220,000 miles on my truck.

Is dust getting past your air filter or is it clogging it up?

I don't really know how the dust is getting passed my stock filter maybe that is a manufacturing issue but the tube running from the box to the intake definitely has dust inside of it do they make any kind of sock or pre filter that would fit over the opening in the air box because the snorkel just would not work for me as most of my boxes that I deliver to are covered by tree limbs Etc. The dirt roads I drive on when dry you cannot even see behind you so as I come to a stop at each box all that dust rolls forward over my Jeep 400 times a day

Invest in better quality air filters. Don't use the cheapo beepo aftermarket air filters! In 2003 my job got brand new S10 Pick Up delivery vehicles. At 30,000 miles I personally replaced the original factory AC Delco air filters. They were filthy! They had dirt caked on them! The replacement filters were cheap aftermarket filters! I changed those at 60,000 miles and guess what, they were hardly dirty at all! We were making the same deliveries to the same customers and traveling the same roads! So why were the filters so clean after the same 30,000 mile interval? Did the air get cleaner? I don't think so! The better filter did a better job of filtering because the paper was more dense and treated with oil to help trap dust and dirt from the air passing through the filter! Give it a try and I bet you see the difference! Hope that helps! Jim

I currently use Mopar filters if those are the cheaper ones you were talking about can you please give a suggestion of a better one. Certain certainly willing to try that although I'm not sold that the dust is going through the filter instead of around it somehow. I only say that because I also have a 2016 Jeep which doesn't have the same problem

Check the condition of the seals between the air filter and throttle body. Also check for cracks in the boot connecting them and any hoses running to it as well.
