Transmission

Asked by Vaguilar3 Aug 09, 2016 at 09:52 PM about the 2007 Toyota Camry XLE V6

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just got my Toyota camry xle v6 3.5 back
from Amco and they charged to tear it apart to
find out what the problem was. Seone told me
it sounded like the drive shaft. It had a clunking
noise and play in it. So if that is true then does
the transmission need to be tore down

While not being in a position to hear this apparent sound clunking noise I cannot suggest an answer to your question. However. when a drive axle goes bad on a front wheel drive vehicle....it could also damage bushings which the inner part of the DA rides in. So...it is possible for a drive axle problem to migrate into the tranny. Check your Bill. It should detail parts that were replaced. We then could ascertain whether these parts are Tranny or Drive Axle Parts. Ask for all the OLD parts that were replaced.
