1995 ford taurus SHO an and off check engine light; any idea?

when driving,check engine light an dashboard is an and off frequently.can you identify why is this
happening ?

Yes, the PCM is detecting a parameter that is out of range from one of the sensors. You will not be able to say what is causing it without guessing until you have the "codes read". Use an OBDII code scanner to "pull" the codes or have one of your local auto parts stores do it for you for free. You should get a 4 digit code or codes. Post back the numbers and we can assist further.

My 1995 SHO doesn't appear to have an OBD II scanner port. But where I expected one down by the parking brake and fuse panel there is a Ford specific connector with lots of pins.. ??? I thought all cars after 1994 used OBD-II... what gives?
