My 2006 hummer h3 has needed a transfer case for a couple of years but do of the cost I have not had it done. My truck broke down. I heard a popping noice and a slight grinding noice. I am all so in need of front mounts. The truck is not Drive able. It almost feels like something is rubbing in the front end. Did I blow the transmission or did the mounts brake?

It could be the axels , transfer case went or transmission. Check the front axels since they are connected to the trani , they might of broke and the grinding starts. This Hummers are notorious for that and they are expensive to fix to. I hope if not the transmission cause its going to cost you and arm and a leg.....depends on where you get it new or used ....is all up to you....but I lift it up take the front wheels off and start looking around , shake things if you can and see where the problem is , if the transmission is not leaking any fluids there is a chance it might not be it yet....
