1998 Mitsubishi eclipse non turbo 2.0L stopped running while driving

1998 Mitsubishi eclipse non turbo 2.0L stopped
running while driving and will not start now.
Checked the fuel pump and it was fine. What
could cause this?

You see, the Gurus won't answer questions like this: "Car stopped running- Why?" because it takes too much writin' to go through ALL the possible causes- especially in a 21st Century car with all the switches, sensors, wires, flangamadoodles- take it to a mechanic- good luck-
