Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Replaced Purve Valve Solenoid on 4.3 vortek and it had Coal in it from the Canister, which is located in the rear of the truck.  My question is how  is that possible, internal crack in canister??

yes, either it has a crack on the inside of the coal canister or on the inside of the canister there is a little screen filter that keeps the coal from entering the system, it could have come off. also if the canister has bounced around alot the coal can shake around and enter the system.
