2008 chevy equinox lock problem.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2008 chevy equinox. The door locks will not work when it is hot outside. Automatic locks. With the key fob or from inside the car. (car sitting in the sun). They can still be used manually. If it is cooler they are fine. They always work. Sometimes one will lock and the other ones will not. Sometimes two or three will work. The cooler it gets more of them will work? When it is cool out (below 75 guess on my part) no issues. This seems to be common problem. But no one has a common answer that I have seen?

Are you sure that your locks on this vehicle are not designed to unlock in the heat to prevent injuring a child or pet that was left in the car?

The wires in the door where they are connected you need to either re connect them with something that can take a jerk or ad some length of wire to the existing ones they are barely long enough and come loose , that's what mine did anyways pull the rubber covering off the inner door hinge area and youlle see your wiring disconnect the battery just to be safe and not blow any fuses
