2004 Honda sounds like squeaking mattress driving slow

Asked by Carol Jun 23, 2020 at 08:04 PM about the Honda Civic

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

front end sounds like squeaky mattress when going slow.  I pushed down on
passenger side front end and that seems to be what is squeaking.  What could
be wrong? The car has less than one hundred thousand miles on it.  The front
struts were changed a few months ago.

Any part of the suspension is suspect. Maybe a worn out bushing?

Sway bar links would be my first guess. "Squeaky mattress" is about what they sound like when worn. Look up a diagram so you know where they are, then (with car secured in park!) they're unloaded when both wheels are in balance or off the ground, if they feel loose they're bad.
