How to find a used car that doesn't stink from cigarettes?

Asked by Oct 05, 2015 at 09:06 AM about the Honda Accord

Question type: Shopping & Pricing

With every used car I've test drove they all smelled of cigarettes.  Is there a way to find cars that are free of this problem.

I guess you will need to ask the person of the car you are interested in looking at before you do so.

Find a place that has a good detailing department, they make equipment that kills that smell now, most good dealerships have one, or they use the chemical method.

Like tennisshoes said, a good detail department makes all of the difference. Also, ask if they will change the in cab air filter if it has one. There are companies that will actually come to you while you are at work/home that have a fog machine that will eliminate the smell as well. Airtrona and The Odor Dr are two companies depending on your location.

They also have the Ozone machines you can purchase fairly cheap that are great just to have for your car and house after a good cleaning.

I got in to the Alpine ozone devices a few years ago to sell them. Multi-level marketing. Just a pyramid sales system I sold 22 of them for $380 each and "earned" a whopping $220.. . The woman ahead of me on the pyramid got most of the money. I'm not saying they don't work, matter of fact they do work well.

Yes they do work very well, my next door neighbor, got a skunk trapped in his garage one night and it let fly, the good thing is he had cleared everything out getting ready to coat the floor, so he pressured washed the place down and put fans on to dry it but the smell was still there so he borrowed my little one and turned on 3 days later you could hardly smell it after the 5th it was gone, I thought that was fastastic cause the unit I bought was only for a small room.
