I have a 944 Porsche it won't start but it will turn, what could I be looking at cost and work wise? Is my engine blown?
The Porsche sat for over 13 years in
my grams garage but then we towed
it to our house and sat for another 5
years I want to restore it what should
I do and can you explain how to fix
this in detail? Thanks
"In detail" on this site? I don't think so. Some basics first. Replace the oil and filter. Pull the plugs and squirt a little oil in the cylinders to loosen things up. Spin the engine with no plugs to lubricate the internal parts. Do a compression test on the motor. If the compression is over 100 psi and within 10% of each other, it should be good. Remove any old gas from the tank and fuel lines. Add fresh gas and plugs. Try to start the engine. If you can get it to run, find a Porsche forum to help with all the other problems encountered from sitting idle for 20 years.
