The engine is as good as it was mantained previously. it's hard to say. These days I'm also looking for one of these, a V6, at a dealer for about 3-4k with 30days/1month warranty they seem like a good deal.

The cam chains on the V-6 for a vehicle that old is iffy? I purchased a 93 new, and maintained it meticulously with oil changes every 3K and never driven over 70. The rear chain guide went out at 60K requiring a new engine. I've seen the same engines go over 200K with no problems. Just a design problem made into the V^ SOHC engine.

The engine on my 2008 F150 is a 4.6L V8. It has been regularly service at 4,000 interval oil changes and 18-24K transmission pan drop service. I have used an additive called Marvel Mystery Oil which I highly recommend. It is added to crankcase and fuel tank. My F150 how has 344, 000 miles on it with no major problems.

I have a 2004 Ford Explorer and it has 236,000 miles on it. I just purchased another ford explorer today that has 36,000 miles on it . My husband is planning on fixing and keeping the 04 explorer however we just wanted a safer family car.

I drive a 94 Ford Ranget 352,000 miles on the original motor. Never once had to add oil between 4000 mile changes. I had to replace the 4 with OD transmission once. Trcck is beat up ut still running fine

I'm driving a 2004 Ford Explorer SUV and it has 178829 and the engine is a little rough. But easy on gas. Had a lot of work put into it. No rust on the body. Someone stripped the bolt because it has a sealed transmission and I have to pay $250 to get it fixed. And I can't afford a vehicle payment. Any advice?
