Asked by Jun 26, 2017 at 10:20 PM about the Volkswagen Jetta

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2012 VW Jetta with 65k miles. I just had a tune up and oil change.
Because I thought that was the problem. But after driving home on the
highway doing about 80 mph my epc light started to blink again. Soon after
my engine light came on. I pulled off the highway and into a gas station and
turned me car off.after loosing some power, my car act and sounded like it
would shut off. I let it sit for about 10 mins and I turned it back on. Now my
check engine light is on and it wont't go off. I have no idea whats going  on
but I would love some advice.

Since the CEL is on, there are fault code stored in the system. You need to scan the car to find out what the codes are. You can have a local auto parts store scan them for you for free, buy a scanner or have a mechanic do it. Post the 4 digit codes back here, (ex. P0171 ) and we can help you with more advise on what to look at.

COULD BE COIL OR PLUGS, 80% OF THE TIME.
