Air coming out engine

When I try start it won't turn over then it sound like air come out some there

okay, do you have a leaking intake manifold gasket? when you hear the hissin' hit it with some gumout or combustible carb cleaner to find the leak~

I won my driver's test in 1983 drivin' one of these~

the base of the carb is a suspect as well~ the hose leading to the brake booster (if equipped) might be the cause as well~
