Be sure to change the fuel filter every 30K miles. If it still starts hard, scan for fault codes. It might be something else like an overdue tune up.

Make sure battery has a full charge and connections all good. When problem is ongoing, if it cranks good but won't start, have a helper crank it while you visually check for spark at the plugs. If spark everywhere, use a gage and check proper fuel pressure and fuel injector pulse. Any applicable trouble codes? If you cycle the key on and off several times before you crank it, does it help? Engine size and model year?

I mentioned cycling the key because it primes the fuel system every time you cycle it. Usually after it sits over-night, the fuel pressure is gone. Other than what I already posted, I'm not sure.
