starting problems with my 2000 sierra

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My sierra has been starting and running fine. New battery 5 months ago.
Went to dinner truck started fine , jump in the truck to leave will not start.
Have full battery power on everything. When I turn the key no start but do  have a clicking noise around the starter. Tried banging on the starter no luck.
Ideas? New starter....

If I get a P0300 code on a reader could that mean a starter problem? It says the code could be an ignition/misfire problem. Starter maybe ? Or something else!
