How do you remove stuck ignition key on 2005 Focus?

Cannot remove ignition key from 2005 Focus.  On my sister's car, I shut of ignition, but now cannot remove the key from the ignition.

See if there is a access nod or area to stick key in around stick shift.. on console area. Most cars have a emergency release area somewhere by the console shifter. Look in manual. Hope this helps.
