"Cuda" is the cutesy name that Chrysler gave the Barracuda HiPo- 1970? sounds about right- the '70s was the beginning of the decay of American Culture- and how everything had to get too damn clever- and cute

VIN numbers are different. 2nd character in the VIN is an H for Cuda. Cuda was high performance only until 74...you could get a 318 Cuda in 74. They had to have a name change for the high performance group. Road Runner had more punch than Belvedere for one example, Camaro and Z28 is another, Mustang and Boss is another. Was the decline of the muscle car era and...... the American culture as well.....thanks to government intervention and manipulation in both segments.
