check for a blown fuse and a blown fusable link going to starter.fusable link -a wire with a 1 inch round solid plastic pice in between the wire itself, pull easy on it the wire,if pulls easy from link is blown, can get new one at any parts store,to replace cut the link out on both sides of wire ,replace, note if blown unhook battery befor cutting.

their is a fusable link close to the starter, cut it out and put a 12 guadge wire in place of it,see what happens, had the same problem with one of my S10,s,also you said you replaced the switch, which one key switch or ignition switch.if you did not replace ign switch remove the plastic cover behind steering wheel, look on left ,under turn signal switch their is a black box,2 tourx screws remove them unplug get new one, this should fix the problem.but first try removeing the link at starter,it want hurt nothing, just tape wires together or use the connectors ,yellow is the ones you need.
