I am having my 2008 Jetta detailed and left the valet key for them to use. Now the car with turn over briefly then stop and "Safe" comes on the dash. What is this? How to turn this off?

It's a completly stupid anti theft feature, read your owner's manual or ask your dealer. There is a specific procedure to do step by step to tell your car it's not being stolen.
