The hardtop of the Jeep Renegade 1984, is the same for the Jeep Wrangler 1988?

I have broken my hardtop of my Jeep Wrangler 1988 and are offering me a hood of the Jeep Renegade 1984, anyone know if it is the same?

Yes, and No. Assuming the renegade is a CJ-7, the top will fit on your Wrangler but the CJ-7 and Wrangler differ in regards to the tailgate. The CJ-7 Tailgate drops down like on a pickup truck, whereas the Wrangler's tailgate swings to the side like a door - the drop down's liftgate closes last while the swinging one closes first. If you replace the CJ-7's top's LIFTGATE with the one from your Wrangler, you can make it work.
