Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Does the giant hub (?) nut need to come off to get the drums off? I see some type of pin
or keeper on the side of the giant nut. How do I get this off in order to get a socket onto
the nut? (If I need to get the nut off)

staked pin drive out with punch , soft metal tap lightly, repack bearings if needed while apart, adjust almost tight on bearings going back together, stake lock and ok.

7Jimmy7, Thanks for your interest. What is a staked pin? The nut is recessed inside the hub body and the sides are not exposed. How can I drive out the pin? Are there any pictures of this that can be viewed on my screen?
