My 2005 RX-8 wont stay idling when I use anything electrical
I have a 2005 RX-8 that had a misfire in the engine that I had fixed but the
same problem was still happening. For some reason the idle would be
completely fine until I turn on the heat, move the stearing wheel or turn on the
headlights, I already checked the battery terminals, all the ground wires are
fine. I can't figure out what's wrong. Help!!!
Could be the idle speed control unit, might be dirty or just quit operating, is the check engine light on?
Yeah the check engine light is on but its reading that the engine is still misfiring, I ordered coils to change them out, just waiting for them to get shipped.
Here is a good read, go to : http://www.rx8club.com/series-i-tech- garage-22/suffering-misfire-start-here-222280/
Plugs and wires have already been replaced, MAF was replaced, ESS is fine, Compression is within, the normal limits, I have to check on the other thing but those seem unlikely to cause it to stall out when any electronics are being used doesn't it?
Have you checked the voltage at the battery with the engine running?
Then I would suggest that you have the vehicle "live data" scanned, then you could see in actual time what the sensors are reading and the ECM's response to incoming signals, that will tell you if something is out of adjustment or if a component has failed. HTH
