warning light has come on Jaguar x type after jump starting

After having to jump start the car a warning light has come on ... and the car now cuts out if you go over 70 mph and goes in to "Home Mode"

The newer cars aren't meant to be jump started it can ruin the alternator.have your battery voltage checked and start there it can run a short time on the battery until it weakens then after sitting gains a little power back sounds like you killed the alternator jump starting it the first sign the battery was shot was having to jump it
