I just bought a 2001 dodge 1500 the kid i bought it from broke off the engine led bulb for obvious reasons I am trying to figure out what volt the led is so i can fix it.

Jim, having a hard time finding it they keep wanting to sell me an engine light that plugs into board the one i need has to be soldered on even the dealer said they dont carry it any ideas who might have it ? Thanks

I was afraid of that. On a lot of newer stuff if a bulb burns out, the whole instrument cluster must be replaced! If you're good at soldering an electronic store like Radio Shack may be able to help. I'd take the cluster with me to the store to show them what you're looking for. Something like a vintage clock radio (from the '80s) illumination bulb might work. They're usually 12 volt DC and would be bright enough to light up the check engine icon. HTH. -Jim
