What filament bulb do I need for 2003 BMW X5
My rear brake lights keep blowing out. I believe the wrong filament was used in a previous repair. Should I be using a 2 filament bulb for the brake light. I may need to replace the socket also since it keeps blowing out.
"Blowing out" like a candle? Just kidding- from the git-go don't just start guessing- find the short and fix it-
ok, so I'm a female and not mechanically inclined, couldn't it just be the socket?
is it a 1 or 2 filament bulb...my owners manual does not tell me, and I believe it blew out because the wrong one is in there, so I think the socket is bad.
Did you take the lens off and look at it already? It might be more complicated than that, just to get to it- you can take the other side off and see if it is a 1 or 2 filament bulb- really, that would not blow it- and the only way sockets go bad is if they get corroded and lose contact- then the bulb just goes out- you said a "previous repair"- so somebody else fixed it? If you are not mechanically inclined, maybe just get a good mechanic- it might be a short in the wiring somewhere- good luck-
ok, I will check all that... Thank you very much!
