Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1984 Ford F250 4x4 with the Windsor 5.8 liter. Its only got 78000
miles so its sat a lot of its life. I have changed everything I know to replace
and have had the carb rebuilt. It will crank (sometimes it can be hard to start)
and it will sit and idle but when you go to take it down the road it wants to
quit especially when you make a turn. Ive had mechanics attempt to fix it but
they leave scratching their head and tell me the only thing they know to do is
for me to buy a new carb. Anyone else experience this and how did you fix it.

Make sure you have good plugs, plug wires and cap and rotor and that the timing is correct. Find a mechanic that knows older cars.
