Having trouble starting my 1995 Ford F250 4x4.

I own a 1995 Ford f250 4x4 with a  351litre engine. Tried to start it and it will just crank but  I smell gas when it does. putting starter fluid in the carberator starts it then it chokes out. No idea what's going on?

Inspect the fuel lines under the truck, their probably rusted at the mounting points, it's common on older vehicles.
