Engine dies after it turns over

I have a 72 ford truck. It had a funny smell while
stopped at a stoplight almost like a burning smell
then the next stop light it died. When I start it, it will
turn over but then immediately dies. Any ideas
what the probken could be?

A burning smell or something else? When was the last time you did a complete tuneup on the engine?

Electrical, thinking ignition switch or ballast resistor...got the parts on order
