Hi rennagade03, I don't believe this is true. However, I have seen a dually conversion for an older (1983) S10 pickup truck on the internet. Hope this helps!

Nope they never did, but as an oddity, there was a special order listed on a build sheet * 10, for a customer in Colorado for a big block version of the basic 1983 fleet side model. The 10 were built with a very early BB engine mounts but no engines. Basically built on line, then shipped via Customer pick up at plant. They were built as proto’s for the Customer totally complete, sans drive train! I tried, years ago to find the customer and trace them down. All I know is it was a dealer north of Denver. Have serial numbers of them and just found one of em in a little town farm in Sterling Colorado. Sitting there for sale in a garage. Me in my motor home stopped for a burger at a small cafe. Parked and walked back to the cafe. Beside the joint in an alley was a 2012 Silverado with car trailer and the 83 s 10 on it. Ya I’m a nut on the hunt. Checked the numbers and it was one of em. Number 3 build. Found the owner, bought the truck and the trailer, hauled it across the country on my vaca and home to Youngstown. So Yes. Equipped with BB, R4 slap tranny, 9” locker rear, near mint truck. Rebuilt it all to new to run it 1/4’s. Still got it! Runs 10.49, 138. So, found a rare one, ugly yellow beast, but my dream fulfilled. Never give up your dreams! Pic is engine dressed up!

Yes, Chevrolet did build a Chevrolet S-10 with a 305 small block engine. I had spoken to to an old man out of Texas, he told me he bought his S-10 dually right off the dealership's parking lot brand new, only had 12 miles on the dash. I know this because I was looking for one and I ran across a video on you tube and I got his phone number from the video. So, I called him up cause he had it for sale but he had already sold it, but he told me all about the truck.
