i meant to ask where the voltage regulator is in the 1990 toyota corolla to take out the bad one

Should be on driver,s side firewall under hood.

Well a voltage regulator is most of the times fitted to your alternator,its a lit tle black box at the back of alternator with 2 brushes that runs on the slipring.
