2005 Toyota Echo hatchback with soaking wet floor behind driver and passenger seats, what could be causing this?

Asked by Anne Dec 01, 2016 at 01:23 PM about the 2005 Toyota ECHO

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I first noticed the rear seat was soaked around the seatbelts (where they come
up from underneath the seat).  I dried the seat out with a space heater but the
moisture keeps returning and now the rear floor is soaking wet as well.  I live in
a wet climate.

Clearly you have a leak. Check window and door seals, the sun roof if you have one and the door drains that drain any water out that gets inside the door. If you can park the car under cover obviously it will help.
