Fuel + spark + compression = Vroom or even pop-bang if the timing is off , you're missing something . Things need to be checked/tested not assumed . Look for any obvious wiring problems mice will invade even a daily driver

Spray a little starting fluid down the throttle body or carburetor, whichever you have. It should run a few seconds on that. If it does you have a fuel problem. If you have an electric fuel pump hit the bottom center of the gas tank a few times with a hammer. If that gets you going it's a bad fuel pump. If it won't run at all on the starting fluid you either have no spark or poor compression. Confirm you have spark. If you do it's time to run a compression test. If all cylinders test very low or zero the timing chain has jumped. Hope that helps! Jim
