Brake light

Asked by GuruKC44Z Dec 07, 2019 at 12:20 PM about the 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Red “BRAKE” light came on when car started but
went off after a couple minutes. Brakes still work.
What could be the issue?

As a bulb check the light will remain on for a few seconds after the engine starts. If it remains on longer check the brake fluid level in the master cylinder. Low fluid will cause that light to stay on. Also be sure your emergency brake is fully released. Hope that helps! Jim
