Dear tamer- The Vehicle Identification Number and the cowl tag will give you lots of information, like year, factory and engine, but it will not give you dealer information. I haven't tried running a CarFax on a car that old, but maybe they can help locate the dealer by telling you when and where the car was first registered. Good luck from Bovan.
