Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hello and thank you in advance for help with this. I replaced my timing belt and water pump on 1993 Camry. 4 cyl: 1 cam.... After finishing and then starting car, it will barely get up to 10 miles per hour and struggles to get to that speed. I realize the timing is off... A friend told me he could fix it very easy, a simple adjustment. Another friend told me that it is something that I need to get an expert to tweak. HELPPppppppp Who can shed light on this for me?

Question.. 1- When timing is set, will it run 1 of 2 ways... Normal or barely run?
2- Can I drive this to a Mechanic to get the timing set, without harming the motor?

Please help with advice... I'm without a car at this time and need this fixed ASAP..
BTW... this is the hardest thing I have ever done, as for car repair.

You need to redo the timing belt, make sure it is set right, because timing is controlled by computer on this vehicle. It may drive without hurting the engine but I would be worried about driving it very far.
