2001 camry engine takes three time before it cranks, then all day it is ok,,,next day again takes 2 to 3 times before engine cranks to start is it starter or timing belt?
If starter is turning strong, and timing is correct, could be bad plug,s or maybe fuel pump filter stopped up,or fuel pump showing sign,s of going out.
Sounds like the fuel system is losing pressure. Try this, turn the key to the run position but don't try and start it. Wait 5 seconds then turn the key off. Now try and start it. If, by doing this, it starts right up the fuel system is losing pressure. By "cycling" the key you're actually pressurizing the fuel system. Most likely culprit is a dying fuel pump. HTH. -Jim
