timing chain replacement

how do ou line up the timing chain marks

The top gear has a mark on it and the bottum one also has it. the mark on the top gear should be at the bottom and the mark on the bottom gear should be at the top. If you pick up a haynes manual, It has detailed pics. Best of luck.
