pontiac g6 oil

my pontiac g6 2006 ran out of oil completely. we
put some 4 containers of oil in it tried to turn It on
right after It started then turned off. waited an hour
to do It again It started then turned off again. what’s
wrong with it?

You may still need more oil. If it was really out completely it may need about 6 quarts - it depends on your engine. Remamber, a filter will also take about a half to a quart of oil. Check the level on the dip stick and see if it shows low. Once you have it full, try to run the engine. If you get the same result, have the engine scanned for trouble codes and go from there. While running out of oil is serious, it should not shut down the engine if it is not run in this condition. It may, however, stop itself if it recognizes your oil is low.
