1998 Nissan maxima starts fine but shut down while driving

1 Answer

Your system ground is buggered up with corrosion (which happens every time you start the car the connection will "weld" creating leavings from this temporary metal incineration...sadly your system ECU does not appreciate varying available amperages and varying voltages and cries "uncle" shutting down everything...what you must do is get a coarse wirebrush and clean the corrosion off the bolt, lug, and place where the lug bolts to...to assure 300 cold cranking amps potential once again...also the connection to the motor block (near the alternator) is also a meaty 1/0awg cable need that much amperage potential...also five years old is time to replace these new tin/antimony alloy batteries do not behave like the ole lead (poisonous to brain cells, and the environment) yay....the date of your first charge is on the top of the battery on "omission" labels indicating the year and month~
