transmission compatibility

Is a 91 Stealth automatic transmission (Non-VR4) compatible with a 92 Mitsubishi 3000 automatic? Asking to figure out if the '91 can be transplanted in the 3000. I've heard there a subtle differences between F4A33-1. Dealer did not know for sure...

It should be compatible, model changes were not implemented until the 93 model (unless you have an extremely early 91 model (like an october build date), so you should be OK
