Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi, I have a 1994 Mitsubishi 3000GT
and the transmission light tuned on. I
checked and add the fluid and yet
the light still on. Any advises? Is there
any reset button for it. Please help if
you are a car maintenance guru.
Thanks in advance.

Did you have the codes read? To reset the cel disconnect the battery for about ten minutes. This will clear all codes. Now this works for the cel not sure if it will for the trans light but might be worth a try. If after you try this the light comes back on I would find someone to check it for codes. Sorry I could not be of more help.

The other day you asked about how many quarts. Did you just add fluid or change fluid and filter?

I added 1 1/2 OEM transmission quarts today and hoped that the light goes off but it didn't. I dud what you advised and disconnect the battery. I'll wait another 5 min then reconnect it to see if the light goes off. I'll let you know if that worked. Thanks Allen

Ok. If its been awhile since the filter has been replaced might be something to think about if it continues to give you issues.

The light disappeared after you advised me to disconnect the battery. It did reset the system. I do appreciate for all your help and advises. If you'd need a radio code, please let me know cause, I have it for my 95 GT. or perhaps works on all models. Again thanks so much for your time. Best regards, Allen
