what do I check ?

Asked by Nov 28, 2013 at 08:29 AM about the 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse

Question type: General

battery light comes on and the battery drains

1 Answer

After you have checked all battery connections and battery for full charge then test alternator it should be putting out around 14 volts to keep battery charged. My wife's gs spider was doing about the same and ended up having to change battery cable ends to fix the problem. (Oh and her cable ends looked good and clean) all I could figure is with the age of car maybe they were not staying tight enough as she drove.
