05 grand marquis transmission interchange

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I need a transmission for my 05 grand marquis. My
car has a Id code GA. Some junk yards say I can
use any Id code as long as it is an 2005 and some
other yards say it must have a code Ga. can
anyone shed some light on this for me.

Unless you want to gamble on it working or not, stick with an exact replacement.
