Alcohol with a non lint cloth, Pinesol, Goo Gone, Peanut butter, sun screen, hand sanitizer, are all remedies for pine tar.

Peanut butter oil but check to see if it will stain first. peanut butter oil works for pine pitch, bubble gum, and price tag glue on the bottom of your glasses. I use the oil from the organic peanut butter.
