Brakes making scraping noise

2012 Ford Focus brakes makes scraping sound when braking. We checked
front pads maybe 3 mos ago and they were good with plenty of thickness.

I would next Check rear shoes or pads also for wear or damage. (Once , on the previous generation of focus, I found a faiIrly worn (¾) rear pad that came unglued from the brake shoes and had spun around with the drum. Surprisingly, it wasn't felt through the brake pedal or car body.)
