blinking padlock light on dash when parked

My dash is showing a red blinking padlock light.  The car is off.  What does
this mean?

Nope, neither. All doors are properly closed and security system is not armed. Could it be the battery in the fob needs replacement?

The theft deterrent is active . It comes on when the car is off doors are closed and alarm is not activated. Makes people think the alarm is on.
