I want to no much about engine timing

basic four stroke engine 1. piston draws down air/fuel mix 2.) on the up stroke compresses the fuel/air mix 3)igntion causes the power stroke to occur 4.) exhaust gas is vented through the valves ...now..stagger this operation so of the four strokes there is always going to be one power stroke...the beauty of the four cylinder. timing, well there is valve timing such that valve opens to let the air/fuel mix in then shuts for a while until the cylinder space is needed for after combustion on the exhaust stroke. the basics of your four stroke motor. spark is timed for the end of the compression stroke...comprendez?
