Recommendation on Used Outback or Impreza

I'm interested in buying a Subaru outback or Impreza and have a budget of
about $10,000. Any suggestions on the best model year/mileage combination
for reliability?

Subaru's are not as reliable as Toyotas. Have a mechanic check out used cars before buying.
