Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Why would the wiper fluid jets not spray on a new hood ? We pulled a hose of
the line and got fluid , then it goes to a tee and to the jets , the hood is new from
a collision repair .

Sometimes a body shop will use used body parts on the repair of an older model. If you have fluid pumping out of the hose at the T connection then something from the T up through the jets is clogged. Probably crystallized washer fluid from sitting in a junkyard. If you have one of those portable air compressors that plugs into the cigarette lighter you can blow out the hoses and jets with the adapter for blowing up a raft, pool toys, etc. I've done that in the past with success. Hope that helps! Jim

You can also drive back to the shop that did the work to have them correct it.

I'll assume you bought a used hood with the nozzles in it, and then had the hood painted to match your car. They might have gotten primer or paint in the nozzles. Just get a paint sprayer nozzle cleaner at a cheap place like Harbor Freight, cost is a buck, and clean it out..... Don't you just love these high tech questions?

Might be dirt in the nozzles or damage from being mishandled at the salvage yard.
